This bar restaurant has been remodelled with a contemporary twist on the currently popular vintage revival style. Traditional standard lamp shades are suspended from bronze coloured braided lighting flex and cast low level pools of light over intimate dining spaces. Lowered ceilings have been wallpapered using Lincrusta – a traditional heavily embossed wallpaper that is reminiscent of ornate plasterwork. Reclaimed crystal decanters have been transformed into light fittings creating an ambience of decadence reminiscent of a by-gone era.

In the rear of the space traditional wall treatments are used in an unusual way with incandescent bulbs containing striking filaments fixed directly to the ceiling with bronze bulb holders in amongst traditional gilt picture frames. Other details such as walls of cream crackle glaze tiling interspersed with olive green vintage relief tiles, gilt wall light fittings, and randomly positioned plaster ceiling roses all create texture and warmth previously missing from this low-level space.
