the coach house // conversion

This project is seeks to refurbish and extend a disused listed coach house in Stirling to create a contemporary dwelling used as short-term accommodation. There is no remaining roof structure or slates with the building falling into a derelict state over recent years.

The sandstone walls and existing openings will be retained with a new zinc-clad dining extension plugged into a large opening on the north elevation. The roof will be rebuilt at a steeper pitch to allow for headroom to create a bedroom space which overlooks the kitchen; the floor plate will be pulled off the south wall to allow light to bounce down from above.

Current status: planning granted.
